And a bunch of ex-pat news including most violent cities in the world, Mexico peace index. How much does it take to be considered rich in Mexico and Barbie mania in Latin America. And more Expat news.

[00:00:24] I created this podcast because I believe that being an expat is really just not for everyone. And that a lot of the ex-pat advice out there is unrealistic. So I’m delivering news, motivation and advice that will make you an excellent expat and enjoy a better life. And cause I know you’re busy I won’t take up too much of your time. I hope this podcast gives you the support you need to become or be a better ex-pat or you want to become an expat soon then go grab our ex-pat rebel guide to becoming an expat in 30 days over at ExpatRebel.com/30. And Hey, if you love what we’re doing, please support us over at an [00:01:00] ExpatRebel.com/join.

[00:01:01] We are a community and we would love you to join us. Now, let’s start today’s episode.

[00:01:08] I just wrote an article about keeping your beach home pristine. Okay. So I’ve owned my beach home here Yucatán Mexico for a couple of years now, and I’ve created quite a few to do lists on what to do on a regular maintenance wise on the place we live, of course on the Gulf of Mexico.

[00:01:30] We’ve had a number of things rust, including door knobs from the inside out. And key holes also as well and the really nice door knobs. And I’ve created quite a number of things that we need to check. On that, and you can go. Look at the show notes for that. Cause there’s a lot of photos and a long list of things and why we check certain things on a yearly, six [00:02:00] month, and monthly basis and a lot of stuff we do on a weekly basis as well. We do have help, of course, we have a maid and we have the maintenance guy that, we that’s done a lot of work for us that if anything that I can’t handle and needs to be done. We can get about a day’s worth of tasks listed and he’ll come over and work on them. So that list is on there. And go to the show notes for that.

[00:02:31] Now let’s move on to ex-pat news.

[00:02:34] And I have an article of from a big travel expert who recommends a particular cruise line. Called SilverSea and it’s considered the best cruise line out there. I have a link over to that article and link over to Silversea and the 900 places that they go to. Very top quality. Probably the best out [00:03:00] there on terms of service that you could ever go on.

[00:03:04] Smaller ships, but very nice.

[00:03:06] And then I got an article on what the sphere, which is this new thing is in Vegas. And really will change the concept of performing art spaces. The article has a lot of pictures and video about it. It’s this big half dome, a little bit bigger.

[00:03:23] That can have displayed on it like a TV. Anything you want. And so they’ve had, it look like the moon. And they’re doing a lot of different things with it. It’s going to be hosting concerts films. Even some sporting events inside of it. And it’s expected to be used for the bigger and large-scale events and presentations by trade shows and meeting groups and stuff like that. So it’s just something fun that us ex-pats would like to go visit actually in Las Vegas on your next vacation.

[00:03:54] Next article I have is about the most violent cities in the world this year. It’s a good list of [00:04:00] places to avoid. There are some places in the US and some in Mexico actually on that list and this is something to be aware of.

[00:04:11] There’s a lot of places outside the US, people that live in the US don’t really, I think realize that, but some of the most violent places are actually in the US there’s St. Louis was on this list. Plus some other ones. For instance, and outside the US can be actually really safe.

[00:04:28] As long as you avoid. Any of these cities on this list. I think.

[00:04:32] Cute video Ethiopian boy, he really wishes he was Mexican because quesadillas, there’s a cute video on YouTube. I got a link over in the show notes regarding that. That how disappointed he was, that he wasn’t Mexican.

[00:04:46] It’s very interesting how a lot of cultures think nicely about Mexico. Yes. There’s some violent areas in Mexico, not so nice. And there was some quite very nice and places. [00:05:00] And of course the culture is I think fabulous. Mexico is where I live full time and I really like it. And it was just cute to see a video like this.

[00:05:09] You could tell the state that I live in I have an article about how it’s attractive and reliable hub for investors. If you’re into that you can check out. There’s a lot of technical staff in information systems and engineering and systems design all being bilingual happening here.

[00:05:27] So it is growing is a. A good place. Actually for a lot of businesses to start. Mostly in information technology.

[00:05:37] I loved this Mexican resort over on the Pacific coast that came out with a taco therapy, culinary wellness. Yeah, they call it taco therapy at this resort.

[00:05:50] They have four different tacos that bring, being anti-stress and other things. And I just loved the title of that. About calling it taco [00:06:00] therapy.

[00:06:00] Yucatán the state I live in still remains the safest state in Mexico. It’s been that way since we moved here, oh four years ago or something like that. And it’s very nice.

[00:06:12] I also have an article about the most dangerous cities in Mexico. As well you’re just in Mexico, of course, these are the cities you would want to avoid.

[00:06:21] The Mexico peace index is created by the Mexican government. I have a link over to it as a big PDF file. It has a ton of information on safety in Mexico. If you like big reports and lots of numbers. That is the thing you want to go check out the show notes for that.

[00:06:39] Also another interesting article about what it takes to be upper-class. In Mexico. 1% of the richest population in this country receive an income of more than 112,000 pesos per month.

[00:06:53] So it’s interesting how. That’s 6,000 something dollars US. How if you’re [00:07:00] making that, or more you’re considered the super upper class

[00:07:04] And of course Barbie mania is swept Mexico it’s crazy probably where you are as well and of course Mexico and the rest of Latin America are taking Barbie mania to. I think more of an extreme or it seems like we’re having pink flavor tacos. Tacos and pastries there’s commercial Planes having the Barbie logo, political ads are getting on it And there’s even a barbie themed protests
